WHAT/ WHY
The use of Internet Applications contributes to educating students through the 21st Century, allowing them to engage, create, critique, analyze, connect and share ideas and experiences in their learning process. It also provides helpful tools for online classes to improve the learning-teaching process. There are numerous Educational Applications with different uses purposes, such as learning management, specific subject areas with activities to develop critical thinking (science, math, language, coding), tools to create videos, storytelling, podcasts, etc. The implementation of these tools in the classroom corroborate with the BC’s Digital Literacy Framework as described in the following standard:
“Creativity and Innovation
Students demonstrate creative thinking, construct knowledge, and develop
innovative products and processes using technology.
a. Specialized And Advanced Skills for Creative Expression
A digitally literate person uses ICT to express his/her creativity.”
According to the ISTE 2e, it is important for educational leaders to share best practices learned and implementing technology in their plans. Here I share with colleagues in a website networking, some Educational Apps I recommend, and I explain how to implement them. These online videos ad websites are useful for teachers to be confident in implementing these tools in their practice successfully.
